Biography of Loïc Delplanque

Loic Delplanque photographer and graphic designer in Morbihan

For as long as I can remember, art has always been my way of expressing myself. I started with painting, but over time, I felt a growing need to explore other forms of creation. A few years ago, I made an important decision: to fully live from my passions.

Today, I draw posters on a graphic tablet and I also dedicate myself to photography, mainly in the Morbihan, in Brittany. This is where I find my inspiration and express two values that are particularly important to me: respect for the environment and the defense of women's rights. I integrate them into every stage of my work, whether through my artistic choices or my daily approach.

My posters are drawn on a graphic tablet: thanks to this tool, I enjoy pushing the boundaries of my imagination. Each piece requires particular attention, and I sometimes spend several hundred hours to achieve the result I envision. It’s this attention to detail that makes them unique.

On the photography side, I believe an image only has value through the intention behind it. Reproducing a place in a purely faithful way isn’t what I’m looking for. For me, the strength of a photograph lies in the creative impulse that drives it. It’s that intention that gives it life and soul.

Among my inspirations, there is Ernest Pignon-Ernest, for his socially engaged urban art. I also appreciate how Serge Gainsbourg played with words and broke away from conventions. In painting, I’m drawn to the colorful modernity of Amaury Dubois, the unrestrained surrealism of Salvador Dalí, and the strength of Gustave Courbet. Each of them brings something unique to my world.

In the end, each photo and each poster tells a part of my journey — an artistic voyage shaped by my values, my passions, and my constant desire to explore new horizons.
