Biography of Loïc Delplanque
For as long as he can remember, art has been Loïc Delplanque's main means of expression. He began by painting, but over time the need to explore other forms of creation became apparent. A few years ago, Loïc made an important decision: to live his passions to the full.
Today, he creates limited edition posters and devotes his time to photography, mainly in the Morbihan region of Brittany. Brittany, where he draws his inspiration. His work is guided by the values he holds dear: respect for the environment and the defence of women's rights. These commitments are present at every stage of his creative process, whether in his choice of subjects or in the way he works.
His posters are created on a graphics tablet, a tool that allows him to push back the limits of his creativity. Each work requires meticulous attention to detail and a huge investment in time and research. Some creations take over 100 hours to achieve the final result. This rigour and quest for perfection make each of his posters unique.
For Loïc, photography is only as good as the intention behind it. Representing a place in a purely faithful way is a waste of time. "If the end result is simply a reproduction of what the eye sees, there's no point. Your eyes alone can do that much better. What makes a photograph unique is the intention that guides it, the creative impulse that gives it real meaning and makes it a work of art in its own right.
Among his influences, Loïc admires Ernest Pignon-Ernest for his committed urban artworks, and Serge Gainsbourg for his love of words and his rejection of convention. In painting, he draws his inspiration from the colourful modernity ofAmaury Duboisthe originality of Salvador Dalíand Gustave Courbeteach helping to nurture his or her own artistic vision.
Each photo and poster tells a story, the story of a personal and artistic journey where passion, values and creative exploration come together.
